This article discusses how to analyze and overcome the phenomenon of matched small loop antennas for automotive safety systems, wearables, and internet of things (IoT) devices magnifying small changes in impedance caused by environmental factors such as proximity to the human body. A unique design flow that solves this problem is introduced, which includes Microwave Office circuit design software integrated with the Optenni Lab RF design automation platform for antenna matching.
